Biman Bangladesh Airlines plans to go to New York

 

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is planning to launch flights to New York, USA (JFK) from Dhaka, Bangladesh (DAC) via Izmir, Turkey (ADB). Biman is planning on using Boeing 787-9 on this route. However, since Bangladesh does not have a Category 1 rating with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the airline can't launch flights to New York until the country is upgraded. Additionally, Biman Bangladesh also filed the request to operate flights to New York via other airports including, Amsterdam, Abu Dhabi, Birmingham, Brussels, Delhi, Istanbul, Manchester or Rome.
